Teeing Up for Good: How You Can Support First Tee – Greater Topeka
Welcome to the final week of our August Tenant Spotlight series! Throughout this month, we’ve taken you inside the incredible world of First Tee – Greater Topeka—our wonderful tenant housed at the CRC CARE Center @ Lundgren.
We’ve explored their origin story, looked at how they build confidence and character rather than just a golf swing, and peeked behind the scenes at their programs and local school partnerships. As we wrap up August, our focus turns to the most important part of the equation: our community, and how we can all pitch in to support their mission.
Ways to Get Involved
First Tee – Greater Topeka is dedicated to ensuring that local youth ages 7 to 18 have access to mentors, life skills, and safe spaces to grow, regardless of their financial background. Keeping these programs thriving takes a community, and there are several meaningful ways you can get involved:
Coach and Mentor: You don't need to be a PGA professional or a scratch golfer to make a difference! First Tee’s volunteer coaches simply need a heart for kids, a willingness to encourage, and a desire to be a positive role model.
Join the Board: They are continually looking for passionate community members willing to lend their time, expertise, and leadership by serving on their volunteer Board of Directors.
Give Generously: Financial contributions directly fund program access, equipment, and resources, ensuring that every child who wants to participate can do so regardless of their ability to pay.
Tee Up for a Good Cause: The Annual Golf Tournament
If you want to support First Tee while enjoying a fantastic day out on the course, mark your calendar for their biggest event of the year!
First Tee – Greater Topeka is hosting their Annual Benefit Golf Tournament on September 18th, 2026, at the beautiful Shawnee Country Club. Featuring a four-person scramble format, it’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy great food, friendly competition, and a fun day out—all while directly supporting youth character development in our city.
You can register a team, explore sponsorship packages, or learn more details by visiting the First Tee – Greater Topeka Golf Status Event Page or checking out their official First Tee – Greater Topeka Website.
Thank You, First Tee!
As we close the book on August, we want to extend a massive thank you to Sharon, the CRC team, and everyone at First Tee – Greater Topeka for letting us share your story. You are true game-changers for the youth of Topeka!
