Goodbye June, Hello July: Thank You for the Lessons in Connection, Care, and Community

Throughout June we’re reminded that real community happens when we connect with one another, offer support, and work together in kindness. Every act of kindness and care helps create lasting impact right here in the places we live, work, and call home.

As June comes to a close, we pause to reflect on a month filled with moments of honor, remembrance, appreciation, and everyday connection. From recognizing those who serve and protect, to celebrating families and the quiet strength found in our neighborhoods, this month has been a beautiful reminder of what makes Topeka and Shawnee County feel like home.

At CRC, we’re grateful for every story we’ve witnessed and every act of care shared — the small kindnesses, the willingness to show up for one another, and the partnerships that strengthen our entire community. For more than a century, we’ve seen how these threads of support weave together into something truly resilient.

Thank you for being part of this community. Thank you for the ways you’ve shown care, offered help, and invested in the well-being of your neighbors this month. Your involvement — whether through simple daily actions or deeper commitment — truly makes a difference.

As we step into July, we carry forward the spirit of June: building connections, offering support, and working together with kindness.

How You Can Make an Impact

  • Reach out to someone in your life who could use a kind word or helping hand.

  • Explore our ever-growing resource directory and consider sharing a local resource.

  • Support CRC’s mission in everyday ways: link your Dillons Community Rewards card, spread the word about upcoming events, or give what you can.

Together, through connection and small acts of kindness, we build the kind of community we all want to live in — month after month, year after year.
