Nancy Johnson, Executive Director

 

 

 

 

 

Nancy Johnson is a strong advocate for social service, business and government cooperation. Nancy brings 25 years of experience in both the non-profit and business community. Before coming to CRC, Ms Johnson was the Planning, Marketing & Community Relations Director from 2003 – 2007 with the Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority. Nancy serves on a number of committees and initiates and carries the CRC’s mission to ensure that the Topeka-Shawnee County community has a planned, coordinated and efficient continuum of health, education, welfare, and recreational services dealing effectively with the needs of its entire people.

Sylvia Hopper, Operations Manager

Sylvia's responsibilities include the day-to-day operations of the CRC accounting, purchasing, record management, annual budget, and grant proposals. She also handles special projects such as the "ToolKit 4 Life" series, the Community Resources Council Directory, and serves as staff support for the CRC Board of Directors. Sylvia provides administrative duties for Project Topeka, the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Advisory Council, Paratransit and Shawnee County Advocacy Council on Aging. She came to CRC with the experience of owning two businesses and teaching business courses. Sylvia is a Notary Public and a Certified QuickBooks User.

John Castello , MAACLink Administrator

John Castello is the MAACLink Administrator for the Topeka and Shawnee County Continuum of Care MAACLink service, a shared client database linking the major emergency aid and homeless service providers in the community.   John also works with the Topeka Shawnee County Emergency Aid Council and the Topeka Shawnee County Homeless Task Force.  John is a recent addition to CRC.  John’s background includes a Masters Degree in Business Administration and he brings over thirty years of experience in corporate finance with several public and private companies.

Leah Durst , Project Coordinator

Leah's responsibilities include developing and editing the Community Resources Council Directory, maintain membership records, assist with accounts payable and filing system, attend monthly meetings and take minutes, and support staff with any other projects as needed.  Education includes Medical Secretary certification from Kaw Area Technical School and an Associates Degree in Business Management from Washburn University.  Leah has over thirty years of administrative, management and public relations experience.

Ruby Carson, Office Assistant

Ruby Carson came to CRC in 2008 as a Social Work Intern interested in Macro Social Work. She loves advocating for the elderly and families. Ruby has a strong belief in our community to provide the needs for education, collaboration and leadership. Ruby Carson worked for many years in Mental Health and Home Health Care. She enjoys being of assistance to others.
